Phillip Lim has teamed with artist Maya Lin to make charitable collection of organic cotton tees for Earth Day.
Today many designers want to follow “eco fashion” trend and try to be more conscious about what they do. Stepping this new fashion approach designer Phillip Lim decided to invite for collaboration an American artist Maya Lin who inspired him to think about environment – from global warming to endangered species. So, Lim offered her to create together a limited-edition series of organic cotton tees with the footprints of endangered species on the brink of extinction – the Siberian crane, the African elephant, the black rhinoceros and the tiger.
The tees will available at Lim’s stores in New York and Los Angeles and on his website from April 22, with retail profits benefitting Lin’s charity foundation.
We have to note, that April 22 is a day when worldwide society celebrates Earth Day – an annual series of events which are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
