Curieuse Island is a small granitic island (1.78 sq km) in the Seychelles close to the north coast of the island of Praslin. Curieuse is notable for its bare red earth intermingled with the unique Coco de Mer palms, one of the cultural icons of the Seychelles, only being present on the two islands and 500 of Aldabra Giant Tortoise which were relocated here from Aldabra in the late 70′.
My dream was to see these tortoises! And they fully met my expectations 🙂 The only one thing that I wasn’t right is that I have been always thinking they are exist on all islands 🙂 but NO…. To see them you need to go to Curieuse Island)) Single Tortoise you can see at each island, in captivity, but in their natural habitat only at this island ( if don’t take into account Aldabra island of course)!
They are amazing!))) I spent about an hour at the island, but it is not enough!!!! It is really difficult to describe all fillings which you feel while stroking their neck (and as it turned out they love it!!) :)))
These little tortoises are 2 years and 5 month old))
