The artist Marc Quinn is unveiling his new project: a bright collection of handbags and accessories in collaboration with the French fashion house Christian Dior.
The collection is dedicated to new London store opening – the stately four-story building on Bond Street that’s been redesigned by Peter Marino.
“I always like making functional art objects. I was originally asked to make just one bag, but once I started messing around it quickly turned into a whole series”, says Quinn.
So, the artist has created a 10-piece line comprised of five Lady Dior bags, in an assortment of sizes, together with pouches, cardholders and a Croisière clutch – all clad in his signature hyperreal prints.
With this unique collaboration, the House of Dior writes a new page in the story of the profound and sincere ties of fashion with the world of art.
