Bangkok – the city of contrasts.. I’ve been once to this city for the few weeks while making some shootings but it was so long time ago and I was so busy that I remember almost nothing!
This time I arrived on 31 December so I met New Year 2015 in Bangkok))
And here I want to write few advices to the people who want to do the same!:
Celebrate it along the bank of Chao Phraya River! It could be the room of some hotels like Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula Bangkok, Shagri-La or smth else… Bars or restaurants on the top of the same hotels! The most important is just to have view on the river where at midnight you’ll see for sure one of the most beautiful fireworks 🙂
But the best place for me to have glass of champaign at New Years midnight is no doubt Sky Bar at 63rd floor at Lebua State Tower! And it is the only place to be when the sun is setting over the Chao Phraya River!:)
1st of January I woke early even it was almost impossible due to my jet lag and went to the old capital of Thailand – Ayutthaya! I was thinking ” everybody will sleep on the first of January and how happy I’ll be to be almost alone at this place” but the taxi driver destroyed my dream as soon as I step into the car!
New Year in Thailand is mass Buddhist prayer! So Ayutthaya was full of the Thai people! But I was really happy to see all that with my eyes! People was bringing flowers, lightening incense! The energy was really amazing!
Now I want to write just few words how to reach this place! :it is located 70km from Bangkok and the best will be to take taxi as he will bring you all around and wait near every temple! Pay attention that Ayutthaya is a city and all temples are located around it and by foot it is impossible to reach it! Every temple you should pay while entering! And there is also Elephant tour around some famous places! But for me was more fun to watch this animals from the ground then to sit on the top! And be ready to spend almost full day at this pace!
